  1. You crack me up “Isn’t this interesting”..

The circus made me think of life’s shit show. Instead of running (ghost) or putting the blinders on (glasses) to see the shit show (circus) for what it is and not getting lost or wrapped up in it.

Find the humor in the circus.

  2. Hi Kate!
The circus made me think of children. Children love the circus because it is a place of fun. The meadow is, you’re right, the exact opposite of the circus, so maybe there is a message of seeing some balance in the first two cards. The circus could also be a message not to take what you might find in the first two cards too seriously, and remember the child in you.
    Just some thoughts!

  3. I sort of see the Circus representing a non-reality or a place where things are more fantasy driven than are real – i.e., dancing bears, clowns and acrobats flying through the air. I think maybe it is saying – maybe the ghosts of the past are more fantasy than what you remember them to be and yes, glasses are represented to see through the illusion and the meadow represents the “real” non-glitzy beauty of real life and the simple, real pleasures you will find when you let them go.

  4. Hi Kate,
I concur with you regarding the past. The glasses are actually the right tool to “size” the past and let it go, and then to turn and look into our current life.
The circus symbolizes joy, entertainment by people of all walks of life, hence being tolerant. We have to keep in mind that each of us grow at a different pace. That’s what the Meadows card clarify: we’re under the same sun (we’re all in the same boat so to speak) growing and evolving together.
Bottom line: joy comes with tolerance and patience.

  5. Hi Kate,

The circus card made me think of the three ring circus and I related that to the three aspects of self: id, ego and superego. I think the ghost would be our id. Perhaps the glasses our a way to look closely at ourselves and especially the id and recognize that we all have three aspects and to work on integrating them. In this case it is OUR circus and it is OUR monkey. 🙂

    Just a thought….
