The Chariot Tarot Card Meaning: forward movement, success, overcoming obstacles, travel

The Chariot is a card of moving onward and upward as you conquer that which stands in your way on your journey to succeed. Ironically, the figure in this card doesn’t really look like he is going anywhere! His chariot appears to be made of concrete and the two sphinxes seem as if they’re just lounging around, poised to go off in different directions.

If the two sphinxes aren’t in agreement on the direction, the chariot will go nowhere. The black and white sphinxes represent the need to integrate both light and dark sides of the self in order to move forward spiritually. Similarly, we often battle internally between what we want to do and what we think we should do.

The Chariot Tarot card meaning suggest that once we are whole, integrated and aligned with our purpose, things begin to happen! Shift occurs, movement takes place and we find ourselves hurdling down our path at mach speed!

When:

  • You are about to move, go on a trip or get a promotion
  • You feel driven by a need to succeed
  • You have overcome challenges and are now in a time of change and transition

Inquiry:

  • What are you directing your energy towards? Is that the direction you want to go in?
  • What do you want to do? What do you think you should do? Are they the same or wildly different?
  • What does success mean to you? How do you define it?

Action:

  • Get clear on the direction you would like your life path to go – take time to reflect, dream and ponder.
  • Make a list of your short and long term goals. Make sure they are in alignment with your highest values and purpose.
  • Do some “shadow work” to help accept and integrate the rejected parts of yourself.

Queen of Swords ~ Tarot Reading for Friday!

crystal visions tarot queen of swords
Crystal Visions Tarot by Jennifer Galasso

Today’s Tarot card, Queen of Swords, encourages you to tap into you intellectual side and use your gift of sharp perception to create clarity and action in your life.

The Queen of Swords gets things done. She can cut through “red tape” like no other and transform a situation in a heartbeat. The message today is that there is a little Queen of Swords in all of us and when we connect with our inner Queen we can see things clearly and know what we want and how to get it.

The two key words I get with this card are clarity and communication. It might help you to be blunt today when communicating with others – don’t beat around the bush. The challenge that this Queen of Swords brings is saying what you mean, but in a way that is compassionate. If you often fear that being honest about how you feel will hurt another’s feelings, today is the day to take a risk – ask yourself: how will this other person benefit from my honesty?

Goddess Oracle Card for Tuesday ~ Aeracura

goddess guidance oracle cards
Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue

Today’s Goddess Oracle Card is “Aeracura: Blossoming,” and it says, “You are just getting started, so have patience with yourself and the process, and do not give up.”

The strongest message I got when I looked at this card was not to hold off on doing something just because you will not be perfect or the best at it. It is perfectly okay to be average (or even terrible) at something, especially if you are just learning it.

Do not wait to be perfect to get out there and do something – do it now! You will never be good at anything if you do not take a risk and try something outside of your comfort zone.

The other vibe I get with this Goddess Oracle Card is that you are just beginning to blossom into a new phase in your life – a freer, more creative phase. Sometimes there can be self doubt and other challenges in the beginning, but rest assured that you will build more confidence and grace over time.

Goddess Guidance Oracle Card for Tuesday ~ Freyja (Bold)

doreen virtue goddess guidance
Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue

The card for today is Freyja and she comes from the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards. Her message is to “unleash your adventurous side! Take risks and be daring.”

If you normally like to play it safe and stick to the tired and true, challenge yourself to step outside your comfort zone and take a risk today. Do something that you have been too scared to do in the past, but always wanted to!

Today is the perfect day to tune into the energy of Freyja and find that bold, saucy aspect in your own personality. Make your own rules today! Live life on your own terms and don’t let anyone push you around. Like the card says, be adventurous! Try something new or adopt a brave, fearless perspective on life.

Today your life is uncharted territory just waiting to be explored!

The World Tarot Card ~ Daily Tarot Reading for Monday

the world tarot card meaning
Crystal Visions Tarot by Jennifer Galasso

The card that I drew for today, Monday, is The World tarot card. Oneness, connection and completion are the themes of this card and I feel like this will also be the theme for the entire week.

Today it will be important to notice how we are connected to all of existence. It is common to go through the day feeling very separate and cut off from others and from life in general. But The World tarot card comes as a reminder that this is not true – it is only how we may choose to experience things.

In order to feel more connected and at one with the world, get into a feeling state of love for yourself, your surroundings and the planet as a whole. I found this Oneness website that really helps me do just that. This is a really wonderful way to start each day!

The other message I got with this card is that we are quickly approaching the end of a cycle and getting ready to begin a new one. Approach this with a sense of calm, peacefulness and celebration – enjoy all the new challenges that this has to offer and let yourself fantasize and dream about the kind of world you want to live in. Everything starts with a vision!

Have a wonderful week, everyone!!!

The Hierophant

the hierophant tarot card meaning
Card image is from The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck published by U.S.Games Systems, Inc.

Tarot Card Meaning: Institutions, tradition, society and its rules

The Hierophant represents the institutions and belief systems in our lives – school, church, corporate culture, patriarchy, consumerism, government – and the influence they have on us. The Hierophant tarot card can also represent society in general, with its expectations, rules and social script.

The most common social script is that in order to lead a successful life and be happy one must find a romantic partner, have a stable career and become a parent. And make enough money to buy a house and fill it with useless crap. When one’s hearts desires stray from this script, they are often met with disbelief and disapproval and risk isolation and rejection from the group.

There are many benefits to conforming and being part of a larger group, even if we have to sacrifice our individuality and silence the screams of our soul. Going with the pack is a strong temptation for most of us and the real challenge of The Hierophant is to find a way to express ourselves, live our truth and still remain a valuable member of our social group.

When:

  • An institution is having a powerful effect on you (positive or negative)
  • Blind obedience is being asked of you
  • Being accepted is more important to you at this time than self-expression

Inquiry:

  • How is the need to belong and be accepted by others affecting you right now?
  • Are you silencing the voice of your soul in an effort to conform?
  • Can you imagine how you might speak your truth AND maintain your sense of belonging within your social group?

Action:

  • Identify all of the “institutions” in your life
  • List the benefits of conformity (such as approval, camaraderie, belonging) and create ways to give these things to yourself without relying on others.

The Emperor

the emperor tarot card meaning
Card image is from The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck published by U.S.Games Systems, Inc.

Meaning: Structure, Stability, Rules and Power

The Emperor is the fifth Major Arcana card in the Tarot (but his number is four) and he is confident, courageous, grounded and knows exactly who he is. While he enjoys the structure of a well laid plan and the stability of a strong will, the Emperor isn’t as boring and rigid as one might initially assume. The Emperor is a rebel at heart, one who may go against the grain of society and make his own rules to follow, rather than someonelse’s.

The Emperor is here to awaken your inner rebel and remind you that ultimately you do not have to follow anyone’s rules but your own! He has strong boundaries and a clear, rational mind. He knows what he wants in life and knows he can achieve it with clear intention and determination.

At times he may be stubborn and have difficulty seeing the big picture, or others viewpoints, feeling that his way is the right way. He sometimes forgets that true power does not come from forcing others to submit to his way of thinking. While The Emperor is the original maverick, a true pioneer and trailblazer, his major challenge is remaining powerful and true to himself while allowing others to be as they are.

When:

  • It is time for you to honour your rebellious spirit and channel your inner Emperor
  • You may be trying to impose your will on another
  • You are coming into your own power and developing a strong will

Inquiry:

  • Where in your life are you like The Emperor?
  • Do you truly allow others to be as they are? Or do you judge them and feel that they would be happier if they were more like you?
  • How can you feel more safe, powerful and comfortable in your own skin today?

Action:

  • Write down your deepest values and the impact that you want to have on your community (or the world!)
  • Practice allowing yourself to be who you are and others to be who they are, without worrying what others are doing or how they may react to you
  • Get organized! Develop a plan – get clear on your intention and write your goals down.

Daily Oracle Reading for Friday ~ Freedom (Hina)

Ascended Masters Oracle Doreen Virtue
Ascended Masters Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue

This Friday is all about embracing Freedom!    If you were free to do whatever you wanted today and nothing could stop you, what would you do?

Hina, the Goddess on this card, challenges you to truly appreciate your freedom in its many forms. Often we live with the illusion that we are trapped inside our lives and have to do things out of a certain sense of duty. Hina calls bullshit!

Hina is here to remind you that you have the freedom to create change in your life and to manifest what you truly desire. Somewhere, in an alternate universe, you too are a powerful goddess like Hina and can strut about doing whatever the hell you want. The only difference is that you have forgotten this aspect of yourself. So close your eyes right now and begin to remember…..
