I recently got Leonie Dawson’s 2013 Create Your Incredible Year Workbook & Calendar. I am pretty new to the whole workbook thing, but right away I was having a blast with it. I was only a few pages into the workbook when I got inspired to create my own Tarot/Oracle card workbook for 2013. I share some of the pages I have created in the video below:
I have been making my own Tarot workbook for almost two weeks now and so far I have created many, many pages! Some of the pages are pretty hideous and probably won’t be included in my final copy, but overall I am really happy with how its turning out. And I had forgotten how much I love to just draw for hours!
Lately I have been getting a lot of guidance (through my meditations) to bring more fun and joy into my work with Tarot. This caught me off guard because I don’t really think of myself as a “fun” kind of person, but as soon as I started aligning with that energy, I began to get flooded with ideas for Tarot related articles, Tarot spreads, e-books, courses, guided meditations, and more. So I have decided to let joy, creativity and fun guide me in everything I create from now on….
A lady commenting on the above video mentioned “bringing out the play in Tarot” and I thought “YES! that is exactly what I want to do.”
And I think that is why my experience with Leonie Dawson’s workbook has been so inspiring for me – because it makes goal setting fun. After working with her workbook for a couple weeks I feel so incredibly excited and inspired about 2013, which is a stark contrast to how I felt at this time last year (not excited at all – and kind of dreading 2012). So I really wish I had known about this workbook last year!

So my goal is to create a similar product – a 2013 workbook/journal – that incorporates the use of Tarot and Oracle cards. So I would love to hear your thoughts on workbooks – have you used them in the past? Have you found them helpful? What do you like most about them?
Wolf (Instinct) is today’s oracle card and it’s message is to trust your own instincts, even if ignoring them may seem easier in the short term.
You have an innate ability to know exactly where to go, what to do and how to do it. Even though you often forget to use your instinctual abilities, you still have them! You may experience this today as a feeling of excitement, or tiredness when someone suggests an idea to you.
Sometimes its hard to trust your instincts if you have a strong feeling that you should feel or act a certain way. You may fear offending someone if you go with your instincts, but realize that this is only a social fear and your instincts really do know the best path for you. Its safe for you to trust them.
Get in touch with your instincts by meditating in nature (or just imagining yourself in nature while you meditate), and asking your instincts to reveal themselves and bring you guidance. I did this the other day and was amazed at the insights I got, as well as all the creative ideas that came flooding in! Make sure you keep a notebook and pen handy for afterwards.
The Tarot card for Thursday is…..The Sun! This Tarot card is a good luck omen and shines positivity and joy on everything you do today. Don’t be afraid to approach things with a childlike interest as this will give you a totally new experience of life.
Look on the brighter side of things and make full use of your sense of humor today. Being able to laugh at life will help transmute any worries or struggles you are having. Look for joy today – don’t wait for it to find you!
Find ways to engage your “inner child” this week, such as painting, craft projects, singing in the shower, daydreaming and writing stories just for fun. Today is all about enjoying being alive – so laugh, play and relax!

If you feel like there are just too many ideas, opportunities, people and activities floating around in you life, take a breath. You don’t have to do it all at once. Now is the time to document all this extra energy and creativity so that you have something to draw on when your mood and mindset changes.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, take out a piece of paper and write down everything you feel you must do and all the ideas that have been coming to you. If you can break these up into categories, all the better. Just because a great idea has popped into you head, it doesn’t mean you have to give it your full attention – write it down and come back to it later.
If you aren’t sure what project you should focus on right now, take a few minutes to go within and ask your inner guide/higher self for advice – you will be amazed at how this can bring you instant clarity!

The key to being comfortable amidst changes and shifts lies in your ability to refrain from grasping onto the old way of living and thinking. Sometimes you may want to cling to the old for a sense of familiarity and comfort, but you need your hands free and your mind open where you are going! Exciting times lie ahead for you!
This particular Tower card has such a warm, glowy feel, which indicates the importance of following the path that lights you up (not the path that is already lit up) – if that makes sense! Feel your energy and your zest for life gathering momentum inside you and let this inner light guide you in your choices and direction you take.
Today’s Tarot card is the Six of Swords from the Crystal Visions Tarot deck. This card represents movement and making a passage of some kind. Since it is from the Swords Suit, it indicates that thoughts and mindset are the key issues here.
Are you wishing you were someplace else right now? Perhaps you wish that you were further along than you are or that things were clearer and more obvious. Rest assured you are moving forward, even if it isn’t 100% apparent yet.
Don’t get caught up in the whole “grass is greener on the other side” line of thinking, but do look to those you admire for inspiration and wisdom. If you are wanting to achieve something, observe those who have already walked that path – you will be amazed at what you can glean from doing this!
The main message I get from the Six of Swords is to be patient with yourself – you are shifting to a new way of thinking right now and all will be clear in time.
