Welcome to part 7 of my 40 part series Minor Arcana Meanings Deep Dives – each week or so we’ll hang out with ONE Tarot card and dive deeply into it’s symbols, meanings and messages – I’ll even give you some journalling questions to help you contemplate and connect with each card. This is similar to my Major Arcana Meanings Deep Dive series and my Meet the Court Cards series.

Advice & Messages
When the Two of Cups appears in your reading, it may be confirming that the relationship your asking about has potential or it could be heralding the arrival of a new, successful partnership, romantic or otherwise.
If you’re seeking more connection, the Two of Cups encourages you to look for common ground in your relationships, instead of focusing so much on differences. BUT, don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you need to find someone who is exactly like you – you don’t! Instead, seek complimentary traits in another and not necessarily similar traits and practice seeing another’s differences as an asset.
The Two of Cups tells you that in order to truly connect with another, you must be in your heart. Approaching your relationships with an open heart and seeking to connect on an emotional level will allow you to deepen your connections with others.
External vs Internal Meanings
Internally, the Two of Cups is all about emotional healing ad inner harmony. Create inner harmony first and then creating harmony in your relationships will be much easier.
Externally, this card is all about prioritizing your partnership with another person.
Reversed
When the Two of Cups appears reversed, it indicates that there’s some disharmony going on in the area of relationships. Perhaps there’s some communication difficulties or one or both parties are not in their hearts, causing the energies of each person to clash, instead of blending harmoniously.
Reversed, the Two of Cups can indicate a lack of connection in a relationship and perhaps one or both parties feel misunderstood. It’s not the end of the world, but there’s work to be done here!
