Happy Halloween! Tarot Card for Wednesday…

Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year – there is always such a fun, magical, mysterious energy to this day! The Seven of Cups is the card I drew and it represents choices, dreams and indecision. 

Do you feel like your head has been stuck in the clouds lately? If you have been feeling scattered, the Seven of Cups reminds you that having lots of dreams, interests and choices is something to celebrate. But if you feel like you spend way more time dreaming than actually making your dreams happen, you may want to take a new approach.

The main message I got with this card was that once you identify what your major time wasters and energy zappers are, you will be well on your way to transforming your life.

I thought about this myself and realized that watching TV and spending unproductive time on the internet was draining most of my free time. For the month of November I am going to eliminate TV altogether and limit my internet time and see what kind of a difference it makes in my life.

The Seven of Cups Tarot card prompts you to ask the question: What change can you make today that will enhance the quality of your life and help you get your head out of the clouds?

The reading for today has turned up the Eight of Cups Tarot card, letting you know that sometimes its okay to walk away from something. Just because you have worked hard at this and put precious time and energy into it, doesn’t mean you have to stick with it if it no longer fulfills you.

The Queen of Swords gets things done. She can cut through “red tape” like no other and transform a situation in a heartbeat. The message today is that there is a little Queen of Swords in all of us and when we connect with our inner Queen we can see things clearly and know what we want and how to get it.

The two key words I get with this card are clarity and communication. It might help you to be blunt today when communicating with others – don’t beat around the bush. The challenge that this Queen of Swords brings is saying what you mean, but in a way that is compassionate. The message of the Ten of Wands tarot card is not to let life bog you down! Learn to say no to requests that you do not wish to fulfill and don’t be tempted to take on more than you need to today.

Sometimes we take on too many things at once – either because we feel a sense of obligation or duty or even because at the time, a new project or event seemed exciting and fun. But if you are feeling weighed down by everything that you need to do, its time to take a step back and drop those things that are not truly important.

You want to move through the adventure of life feeling unencumbered, being able to experience things here and there but not feeling like your life is dragging you down and holding you back from experiencing things. Choose wisely what you would like to spend time on and where you direct your energy. This includes who you choose to spend time with, what you read, watch and think about. You don’t have to constantly sensor yourself, but choose things that lift your spirits and leave you feeling fulfilled and enriched.

If you are feeling overwhelmed right now, make a list of everything you must do. Now ask yourself:

  • Is there anything on this list that can wait or that can be scratched off completely?
  • Can I delegate anything on this list to someone else?
  • Use colored highlighters to designate high, medium and low priority tasks
  • What would help you the most in getting through this list calmly and productively?

Take action toward your goals today by looking into courses, programs or teachers that could help you along your new path. Or even start by getting a book on your chosen subject/field and begin doing your own research.

Make sure whatever you are investing your time, money and energy in is something that brings you joy and really captivates your interest. The process of learning should be just as exciting as your idea of this new career. Don’t waste time studying something that holds little interest for you just for the sake of getting a “good” job after.

Happy Monday everyone!

Today the Ten of Wands comes to us as a gentle reminder not to take on too much this week. You may be tempted today to take on a list of projects and duties, all in the name of helping others and getting things done, but this can leave you feeling bogged down and stressed out.

Be realistic in what you think you can achieve this week. You can be most productive if you prioritize and choose the most pressing issues to deal with first today. Make sure you delegate some tasks to others – you cannot be expected to do it all!

The most important thing to do today will be saying “NO” to others and being able to feel good (not guilty) about it. A friend may request your help with something that you really don’t want to do. It is okay to say no, as you may end up resenting your friend (and yourself) if you agree to something that will only put more stress on you right now.

Make sure you get a little “me time” tonight. Enjoy a hot bath with candles and make yourself some nice tea or hot chocolate while you curl up on the couch with a good book.
