Your head and your heart are intimately connected and the Three of Swords Tarot card wants to remind you of that. Your thoughts deeply effect how you feel about yourself and how you relate to others right now.
The Three of Swords usually comes up when you are causing yourself unnecessary emotional pain. What kind of thoughts are running through that head of yours today? How are they are making you feel?
You may be taking things a little to personally right now – like reading too much into something someone said and then playing it over in your mind and feeling all sad and glum. Slap yourself out of this funk! It is a waste of time!
You are the captain of your own ship! That is the main message of this Wheel of Fortune. Don’t fall prey to the belief that you have no control over your circumstances, because you do.
However, if you don’t realize that its you at the helm, life will feel chaotic, random and confusing. But its time for you to take the wheel and steer your ship into sunny harbors!
Today is a good day to be deliberate in everything you do. Where do you want to sail to? Write it down! Make a plan. Be conscious of every choice you make today – what you choose to think, eat and do. Who you choose to interact with and how you choose to feel. And begin to recognize yourself as the captain of your life.
Today’s card is Judgement. When you hear you true calling, you know its time to bust though your blocks like cardboard boxes!
Sure you have things standing in your way and holding you back – like fear, crummy beliefs, blah blah blah. But when you are called upon to do important work that aligns with your life purpose, those blocks don’t seem so insurmountable anymore.
Today you will make some headway toward overcoming a certain fear or taking a big step forward in the direction of your divine life purpose.
Ask yourself this: What will help you take that giant step forward? What do you need to do, know or understand?
You may feel an urge to help someone today, but a voice in your head will say but I’m no expert or I’m not qualified or some nonsense along those lines.
You don’t have to be miles ahead of someone to help them on their life path – you only need to be two steps ahead. The Five of Pentacles suggests you are needed in a helping role, but worry that because you struggle with the same issues as the person your helping, you could make matters worse.
Your life experience lets you relate to others with similar challenges. This allows you to be compassionate and understanding – so don’t kid yourself and think that you aren’t good enough to be a valuable role model. Your experience is needed today.
I am so excited to tell you all about “Interactive Tarot Card Reading” and how its totally changing how I look at doing readings. In my humble opinion, this reading method is the Bees Knees. Not everyone will agree. Some will say “that sucks” or “that’s cheating.” You be the judge!
This is part one of what will be a three part series of blog posts all about this edgy, creative and daring way of reading the cards. So hold onto your hat!
What is Interactive Tarot Reading?
When you give an “Interactive” Tarot Reading, you will ask your client lots of open-ended questions and get them involved in the reading as much as possible. In a way, you are kind of coaching them on how to read for themselves.
Interactive Tarot reading works best when you are reading in-person, but it can also be done via Skype or telephone. It can be done when you are reading for yourself or another person.
Here’s an example of how an Interactive Tarot Reading might go down:
Let’s say you get The High Priestess. Before you rattle off the meaning, you may ask your client “what do you notice first when you look at this card?”
Client:the ocean in the background
Reader:and what does the ocean represent to you?
Client: fear! I am terrified of the ocean. I always worry about what might be lurking beneath and it always seems so deep and so vast and so dangerous. And I never learned to swim.
Reader:Is there any area of your life where you feel fearful and over your head?
Client:Yes! My relationship with my boyfriend. In fact, they way I feel about the ocean parallels how I feel about commitment. The deeper I get in my romantic relationship, the more panicky and unstable I feel.In the past I have ended relationships because of this.
Reader:Interesting! When you look at the woman on this card, what comes to mind?
Client:She seems really calm and powerful, like the fear that I just mentioned would never plague her. She seems above it all.
Reader:Have you ever risen above your fears?
Client:Lots of times! Just last Summer I conquered my fear of flying and got on a plane to Hawaii.
Reader:That’s amazing! How did you do it?
Client:I listened to a self-hypnosis meditation before boarding the plane and I used positive affirmations for weeks leading up to my vacation.
Reader:Have you tried using affirmations for your relationship fears?
Client: No, that has never occurred to me. What a fabulous idea! I am going to give that a try. Wow, your brilliant!
At this point in the reading, the you may opt to tell your client the meaning of The High Priestessand then interpret it in the light of the information she has just given you. For example:
Reader:The High Priestess often symbolizes an awakening of psychic energies and an initiation into working with the “mysteries” – including the subconscious mind, which is what you were doing with your affirmations and self-hypnosis! It feels like now is a great time to claim the role of High Priestess in your own life, particularly in relation to managing your fears. Whenever you feel afraid or out of your depths, it can be helpful to picture this image of the High Priestess sitting there all calm and powerful and ask “what would she do in this situation?”
So, as you can see, and interactive Tarot reading is all about bringing out the innate wisdom of your client and then adding your two cents as well.
As I mentioned earlier, you can also do an Interactive Tarot reading on yourself. Take your time pondering each card, ask yourself questions and go outside the box by letting go of the mainstream Tarot meanings. I teach you how to do this in my free audio tutorial, so if you haven’t listened to it yet, do it!
So why bother reading this way? What are the big benefits? I am going to give you 5 smokin’ hot reasons next week in part 2! So stay tuned!
In the meantime, I want to hear your thoughts on this – have you ever dabbled in Interactive Tarot Reading? Can you think of any pitfalls of this type of reading style? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
Its time to get artsy fartsy! The Knight of Cups is all about following your heart and honoring your inner creative.
Get your feet wet and do something arty – go to a dance class, make a collage out of magazine clippings or, if your really crazy, paint a mural on your bedroom wall. Don’t be afraid of making a mess today.
In romance, this Knight of Cups encourages you to wear your heart on your sleeve and just go for it. You may regret it later, but not as much as you will regret holding yourself back.
If you have the opportunity to travel or go on some kind of adventure this weekend, do it! It will help you charge full steam ahead toward a life that enchants and thrills you.
The Devil is today’s Tarot card and he prances by to tempt you with your secret desires, the fulfillment of which will not bring you the freedom that you are truly craving.
The Devil represents those addictive behaviors that are comforting to you, but ultimately keep you stuck in a negative pattern. Like boredom snacking, binge eating, smoking, procrastinating, shopping or a million other so-good-their-terrible-for-you activities.
Become aware of what these kinds of habits do for you (on a positive level) and then get crafty in finding ways to get those things in a different, more healthier way.
For example, if you like snacking on candy because perhaps that is the only tasty spot in your day, try creating more tasty spots – like eyeing up sexy young joggers at the park while you eat a healthy lunch. Or opt to go for an after dinner gossip fest/walk with a friend instead of watching TV. What juicy new habits will you be bringing into your life this week?
The Nine of Cups is here today to speak to you about fulfillment and what it means to you. What would it take for you to feel fulfilled? And how do you know that what you think you want is what you really want?
This card has two meanings:
The first is that it can symbolize a happy, delightful time in your life where relationships flow easily and communication is strong. If this sounds like you, sit back and let the good times roll.
But if your thinking ummm no, that’s not me, then the Nine of Cups can represent a need to question your desires and that which you are working towards. Are you pursing particular goals out of fear? When you imagine yourself finally achieving your goal, do you feel a little bored? Be honest!
Question of the day: Have you ever pursued a goal that deep down you didn’t even want, simply because you lacked imagination and fearlessness at the time? Tell me all about it in the comments below!
How does reading that statement make you feel? What about when you reading it out loud and say “I am profoundly clairvoyant”?
When I did this the first time it felt like I was playing dress up in my mom’s old bridesmaids dress and oversized stilettos – I felt like I was just pretending. But if you stick with it and say this to yourself everyday and remain open to the idea that it is possible, you will be surprised!
You probably think of clairvoyance as seeing the future or seeing what is hidden. However, clairvoyance can help you with artsy things too – like painting really amazing pictures, writing fascinating stories and basically just juicing up your creativity. So don’t be afraid to really, truly open to your innate psychic gifts – because we all have them, not just some people!
