Today we have the Six of Pentacles (again!) and it appears that “balance” is what it’s all about. But don’t be fooled. Striving for balance is overrated.

Contrary to popular belief, imbalance is the natural state of affairs. Think of a pair of testicles. One must always hang lower than the other, lest they be squished together during the act of walking (moving forward).

And this is how you need to start thinking of your life – like a pair of testicles. Stop striving for perfect balance.

You hear a lot about “balance” these days – about eating a balanced diet, about living a balanced life, balance, balance, balance! And its all bullshit.

Striving for perfect balance is useless and, in my humble opinion, totally unnatural. But here’s the funny thing – if you just do what you feel, eventually things even out and balance themselves.

For example, yesterday I spent an entire day lying on my couch, reading Scandalous Liaisons by Sylvia Day, eating peanut butter-cornflake squares and drinking syrupy, German white wine.

But today I am just humming along with my work like a skanky ferrari, getting shit done, eating my greens and doing yoga.

So stop striving and just go with the fucking flow already!

Five of Pentacles ~ Start Telling a New Story!

Feel like the weight of the world is crushing you? Or perhaps just the heavy load of all your responsibilities are bringing you down? Tell a different story!

If you find yourself lamenting to your friends about how hard things are, realize that this only creates more of what your complaining about. Especially if you actually feel worse afterwards.

Try re-writing your “script”. Here’s an example: The other day I said to a friend “nothing is working out the way I want it to and it is really disappointing.”

I felt much worse after saying that.

What I am going to say from now on is: “While things aren’t unfolding the way I had hoped, I know that everything is unfolding in the order and time it is meant to. I am excited to see where this leads.”

The second response is just as true as the first response, but it has a positive feel to it and makes me feel empowered instead of a helpless victim of life.

No, you don’t need a degree! Part of you thinks that if some authoritative “governing body” issues you a certificate then you will have permission to do what you really want to. That’s just not true.

Do you feel tempted to keep signing up for courses and programs? There is nothing wrong with being a life long learner, but do it out of sheer interest and not out of a sense of lack.

You already have everything you need to succeed.

What is needed is presence. If you can be present in all you do, and give things your full attention, you will contribute to this world in profound ways.

The Lovers Tarot Card is all about unity, connection and balance.

What do you find yourself powerfully drawn to this week? It could be a person, place or thing. Often we are drawn to something that is lacking in ourselves in an attempt to balance things out.

Communication and connecting with others may seem easier than usual this week and don’t be surprised if you feel a surge of passion towards something you had thought long forgotten – like an old hobby, for example.

Although The Lovers Tarot card is all about opposites attracting, try to look for the commonality that you share with others, rather than your differences – this will help you get on the same page with friends, family and colleagues.

The story is about “poverty thinking” and feeling like you never have enough, no matter what your situation. It doesn’t matter if you live in a castle with trunks full of jewels, if you feel poor on the inside, you will never know true wealth.
